Every summer Lithuanian radio amateurs gather together to their traditional HAMFEST somewhere in a beauty spot in Lithuania.

Lithuanian Amateur Radio Society (LRMD) is organizing LY HAMFEST–2010 and invites to take part in it all radio amateurs from Lithuania and abroad.

It will provide excellent occasion to meet over 300 LY hams in the same place.

LY Hamfest-2010 main organizer is Radio Club “Vytis” (North Lithuania).

Time: July 23-25, 2010

Official opening ceremony will take place Saturday at 12.00 noon, but, as always, we start gathering on Friday.

Closing ceremony will take place Sunday afternoon but this would not mean the end of the gathering.

Place: Siauliai region, the country tourism homestead "Oak Valley". The place is near highway Riga-Siauliai-Kaliningrad section Kelme between 81-82 km. Turn right and go about 100 meters (inform the stand).

"Oak Valley"

Country tourism farmstead "Oak Valley" is located in the territory of the former estate, near the "Kibirkštukas" lake.
At your service we have rooms for 2-4 people, room with bar, living room, recreation room with fireplace, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, playing grounds. Active relaxation on the beach and swimming in the lake, fishing, scull a boat or water bike.

Main activities

HF, VHF, HST (telegraph), ARDF (fox hunting), CAC (crazy acoustic contest), basket ball, rope pulling, bicycle, weightlifting, fishing and other contests will take place on Saturday after opening. Market, auctions will take place during the gathering time. In the evenings – bonfires, live music, dancing, etc. Saturday there will be an excursion for the ladies. HF club station LY1RMD will be available for all. A special station, with callsign LY2010LRMD, will be working on the air all time. We suggest to bring your own transceivers and aerials for demonstrations and trials to work under field conditions. CEPT T/R 61-01 licenses are valid in Lithuania, if you have it, you could operate LY/xxx with your own rig.

Accommodation

A grass field will accommodate our cars and tents. Nearby there will be properly erected field toilets, waste bins.

At your service homestead has rooms for 2-4 people, bar, recreation room with fireplace, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, playing grounds. Active relaxation on the beach and swimming in the lake, fishing, water bike. In the main building there is a hall, where it would be possible to organize seminars.

Sleeping places are limited, but there are hotels in 15 minutes driving from the hamfest place (Siauliai or Kelme). For reservation write an e-mail to Gintautas LY2GV [ly2gv@splius.lt] or call +370-686-40128.

Food and drinks will be served in shops all the gathering time. Hot food will be also offered. There will be facilities for self catering.
